plaids, and stripes, and dots- o. my!

all american sportswear designer claire mccardell's form flattering silhouettes and use of patterns are being re-introduced in michael kor's spring 2009 collections.  the late 1940's and early 50's styles of cinched waists and lengthened skirts, used by mccardell, danced on the runways and i presume will be worn by fashionista's in months to come.

oscar de la renta satin dress. a moment of silence please.
pierrot et marianne relaxing in the sun
                                                  juicy couture canary silk dress

marianne murders a man in her apartment. love the reds, blues..once again.

french fanatic...pierrot le fou. (1965 jean-luc godard film)

throughout this film pastel blue, primary blue, red,  yellow, and white paint the look of the film. these child like colors, juxtapose against the crimes and murders that marianne and pierrot commit during the film.

anna karina as marianne. love the powder blue. the eye makeup. the pale skin. the sweet bangs.

scamming, killing, and conning people to survive, the couple is forced to live on a beach (and do so happily, until marianne gets bored). marianne convinces pierre to fall in love with her and in the end he realizes the man who is going to save them (her brother, as she calls him), turns out to be her lover.

the film is a great source of inspiration. love the style of the clothing, the improv acting, anna karina, and the colors used in the film...rent it!
