less is more: make the inexpensive look unattainable

despite the overflow of over drafts that pile up on my online bank account i decided to splurge on magazines yesterday afternoon. not only magazines, but expensive ones. of the seven i bought, i found one in particular to match one of my design aesthetics (i seem to have some sort of multiple fashion personality disorder-you may be able to tell by my blog). the new look is a sort of sexy powerful punkish less is more look. using body suits, black, denim, and heels that could be found at an online sex shop.
i took photos of the images with my iphone, like i always do when i find something inspiring. these images are from the new mirage magazine.

this room has the look of black leather that i love, also the cheap d.i.y quality since i used my iphone. i normally like to have image of rooms or places when designing collections or getting dressed. i find them to be most inspiring.

high-waisted american apparel leggings, a staple in my closet and every day uniform- lately.

this look is very accessible (current american apparel-i would wear this with high waisted jeans), although it is by helmut lang, i tried to find it on the web but it seems to be non existent as of now.. i love the cut out shapes, helmut has always been ahead of his time.

american apparel tube top and levis shorts. *d.i.y :cut your jeans (maybe not this short), apply chains, wear black spandex underneath, add the tube and throw a man's cardigan or button down over it.

american apparel body suit. with amazing shawl over it(made of sunglasses by ann sofie back).

necklace by acne jeans

this look is very do it yourself...the boots are amazing by designer ayayo. i love the 70's jane fonda meets modern rebel.

the pose i interestingly erie, the bathing suit american apparel, the shoes are to die for.
barbara bui
these barbara bui boots are actually expensive but remind me of this victorian modern punk look. if you are going to splurge i feel that accessories are the only things to do so on.
